There is currently an immature SNOWY OWL in southeast Little Rock. It is probably best seen from the east side of the Valero gas station at the intersection of Lindsey Road and Fouche Dam Pike. Photo below.

Excellent! Might come down tomorrow if Linda feels better. I was just getting ready to call you. I'm meeting Charles near there in the morning. Call me if you come down.

That's great! How rare is this? Kay, according to Arkansas Birds Their Distribution and Abundance (James & Neal 1986), there was a sighting in the mid 40's, near Pine Bluff, and a couple during the winter of '54-'55, near Quitman and Morrilton respectively. There is also a record of a bird picked up near Quitman circa 2005 that was near death. And last winter there was a bird photographed on a roof near Lake Hamilton and another bird photographed in a backyard in Russellville. So......this is about the 7th state record. However, I would say that this is most likely the first to ever be seen by "birders" as all other previous sightings were made by non-birders (if there is such a thing).

So happy that people are getting to see it! I can't wait and hope it's still there Friday.

Same here, Kelly. I'm happy for everyone else, but I won't be able to get proper sleep until I get there. HA!

If anyone sees the owl, please post it or message me. I've got a nasty headache and the thought of driving all that way isn't very appealing at the moment.
