Although it wasn't cooperative as I would have liked, I was able to get a reasonably close shot of one of the Cave Swallows now being seen at Beard's Lake Campground. I'll try again to photograph the species tomorrow and hope this time the bird will choose a better perch. Charles Mills Texarkana TX 75503

Charles, LaDonna and I had a bird that looked identical to yours, today at Treadway's. I took a few digiscope photos with my iphone. These are the two best. Second bird from the left. Far left bird.

It seems that my earlier question having to do with whether or not 2013 was the breakout year for Cave Swallows in Arkansas has been answered with a clearcut yes.

We saw zillions of swallows while we were out and about east AR, yesterday. There were probably more Caves but, honestly, I didn't feel like scanning through all of them.
