Not a rarity but always a challenge to photograph against a good clean background because of the species tendency to perch low on grass stems. This male was photographed earlier today while I was hiking the Okay Levee, Millwood Lake, Howard County. Charles Mills Texarkana TX 75503

Thank you Cheryl. As dry as it has been in SW AR the past 3+ years, Blue-faced Meadowhawks remain tough to come by in the areas that I most frequently found them during wetter years.
