Sounds like quite a day at the Columbia Bottoms....rare line-up.
FW: Today Tom bormann and I are documenting a Sharp-Tailed Sandpiper found this morning in pool 5 at Columbia Bottom. We observed the bird for perhaps 15 minutes, about 350 meters down the levee from the gate at parking lot S. we went left through the middle of the strand of cottonwoods; the bird was feeding in the mudflats. Our original goal was the gallinule, previously posted. We found a Tri-colored Heron, posted by Charlene. All the birds were seen in the same area. After a lengthy study, I went back to the car for the camera and when I returned Tom told me the bird had flown. We stayed for another 45 minutes and we searched other pools but we did not refined the bird.
If accepted we think this is a Missouri first sighting.
