Mine for Arkansas has to be either Black-throated Blue Warbler or Black-headed Gull. I've missed both several times. In fact, I'm pretty sure everyone in the state has seen the warbler but me.

I haven't been birding long enough to have a nemesis, but I can tell I'm getting close. When I started, I would just go out to see whatever was there and get half a dozen life birds. Those days are over! Now I still go out to see whatever is there, but I usually have 1 or 2 target birds in mind. It's funny, once my son and I finally find a new bird that has been eluding us, we start to see it everywhere.

Don't worry, Kenny. I'm right there with you. I've lived in Jonesboro for most of the 6 years I've been seriously birding and have still never seen one.....

Black-throated Blue Warbler isn't on my state list, either, Kenny. My nemesis bird, for the present is perhaps anything that's on our checklist that I've not seen. Prior to that, it was Short-eared Owl and recently Roseate Spoonbill. Oh wait! Fulvous Whistling Duck. I'm still looking...

I think they nest there, on occasion.

I have another to add, one that should be much easier than a Black-throated Blue.....Ruddy Turnstone! Ha!

Mine is a Cape May Warbler. Black-throated Blue would be nice too.

I don't have a Cape May for this year. They're tough.
