As I already mentioned elsewhere, I started this a few weeks ago on a whim. So, if you have any questions or comments, please post them here. I may not have the answer, but I'll try.

I don't know how many ARBIRD users have ever used a forum type website for discussion but I've been a member of a couple of different sites for years. At first, it is a little different and does take a bit of getting use to but, I think it's the way to go.

The ads -I don't like them but, I can have them removed for $72/ year. I don't mind paying it if people want to use the site.

I would like to add that the magnificent Least Bittern photo that serves as the header for this site was taken by Charles Mills. Many thanks to Charles for sharing this.

Lastly, I would like to encourage folks to hit reply and introduce themselves.

Hello Kenny!
Remember me from back in January when I spotted the White-tailed Kite down in Drew Co.?
I still drive through there just on the off chance I'll see them again. I tried to open your Swallow-tailed Kite pic but was unable to since I wasn't a member of the pro-board but I've seen one of those fly over down here back in 2011.

You should be able to view the Swallow-tailed Kite photo since you joined. I looked for it again yesterday but no luck. 

Do you remember the date and location you saw the Swallow-tailed Kite in 2011? If so, you should send in the record to the Arkansas Bird Records Committee. All significant sightings are reviewed by the ABRC and added (or not) to the Arkansas bird records database. To do so, go here:  www.arbirds.org/   and look under Bird Records, about half way down the right side and you'll see the link for on-line form. Click that and fill out the form.

Hello. I'm new (obviously) and I don't actually live in Arkansas but in northeast Oklahoma. I'm close enough to Arkansas do easily drive to most of it and I hope to learn a little about the wildlife and best areas to go to see it.
