LaDonna and I had just stumbled out Saturday morning to look for migrants when we flushed a small dark bird. It landed about 20 feet in front of me behind a tuft of grass. LaDonna suggested that it might be a towhee. About that time it hopped out and lo-and-behold it was an adult male LARK BUNTING! I told her to get a good look and then get her camera for documentation. Fortunately the bird stayed long enough for some but not long enough for others. The last time we saw it was about 1:00 PM.
